Anyone who has attempted to grow out bangs knows that there is always a tricky stage where the length of your grown out pieces are just a little too long to wear as bangs but not long enough to pull them behind your ears. It looks like Billie Eilish, the queen of choppy bangs, has found a solution to this tricky step, with her latest red carpet look for the Environmental Media Association awards gala in Los Angeles – and that involves the accessories for beloved Y2K hair, snap clips.
Dressed in a loose-fitting sage green silk shirt and pants ensemble, Billie wore her hair pulled back in a sleek low bun with a middle part. She let her face-framing locks of hair in the bun fall around the length of her jawline. To keep the grown-up bangs smooth and out of her face, she used black clips to style them and cut them around ear height. The end result created a curtain effect with black snap clips that perfectly matched her jet black hair.
Billie posted a series of high-angle selfies of the look to her Instagram with a simple winking caption. Just last week, Billie posted another set of photos wearing her bangs in a full style across the front of her face. Since revealing new choppy bangs early last year, the musician (and hair chameleon) has styled her bangs as full bangs, voluminous side bangs, and curtain bangs.
With Billie’s new red carpet hairstyle, we can only assume the star is looking to experiment with ways to go bang-free (at least just for a night out). With her subtle take on Y2K hair accessories, Billie makes a case for hidden curtain bangs, reminiscent of pre-blonde Billie. Now all that’s left to do is its previous green regrowth.
