Sonia Kruger reveals her most embarrassing gaffe on live camera – and it involves falling into a famous singer’s lap

Sonia Kruger has recalled one of the most embarrassing experiences of her presenting career.

In a candid column for Stellar, the Channel Seven presenter, 58, recalled the moment she found herself sitting on pop star Boy George’s lap after a misstep on the set of The Voice Australia .

“It was like a thousand people were gasping for air as my life flashed before my eyes,” Kruger said of the mortifying incident.

While Sonia was doing her usual walking and talking segment, she tripped over a speaker and fell.

Time seemed to slow down as she was thrown into the air, much to the shock of the audience, and potentially revealing more than expected in her short outfit.

“Here’s the thing: Embarrassing things happen to all of us…all the time. Right now, we cannot imagine a future in which we will ever laugh at ourselves and at these minutes of misfortune,” she said.

The audience’s gasp turned to relief and laughter as she quickly cut to a commercial break.

But this isn’t the only time Sonia finds herself in an embarrassing situation.

Recalling a morning walk through the lobby of a five-star hotel after a late-night shoot, she noticed unusual attention directed toward her.

Without hair and makeup, she felt out of place but continued, only to discover from her laughing colleagues that she was parading with a strip of hair extensions hanging from her handbag.

“It was like fringe on a tote, except in this case it looked more like a purse,” she joked.
