Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson revisits one of his greatest film roles. He’s ready to lend his voice to Maui again for the next Moana sequel, and he shared new photos from the ongoing voice recording session.
On X, Johnson shared a post containing three images of himself recording dialogue at Walt Disney Animation Studios. He also included a photo of his grandfather, who inspired the character Maui. The Rock then hyped the film while speaking about its importance to Polynesian culture. He also teased the new journeys Moana and Maui will explore in the sequel, excited for fans to watch. Johnson will bring Maui to life in many ways. With the return of the voiceover in Moana 2Johnson will play a live-action version of Maui in the remake of Moana it’s in preparation at Disney. Because Moana 2 has been given priority, the live-action remake has recently been seriously delayed. It was supposed to be released on June 27, 2025, but that was pushed back to July 10, 2026.
