At least two people are dead and six others injured in a shooting in Memphis, Tennessee, according to US police.
The incident happened during a street party in the city, with clips on social media showing panic after gunshots appeared to ring out.
Police said both victims were men and one of the victims was in critical condition. Another victim has already been released from the hospital, police added.
Memphis police initially said there were 16 victims, including the two men killed, but later revised that figure, saying it was an “error” likely caused by “multiple victims reported to many times”.
Police added that the incident occurred during a “block party that was taking place without a permit” and which brought together between 200 and 300 people.
At least two suspects are being sought, CBS News reported, citing interim Memphis Police Chief Cerelyn Davis.
“We believe at least two individuals fired weapons during this incident,” Ms. Davis told CBS News.
