AC Milan qualified for the Champions League knockout stage with a 4-0 win over Salzburg in the final round. It’s a huge revenue boost for the Rossoneri, who have already won a lot since the group stage.
With Covid restrictions removed, Milan were able to have 100% capacity at the San Siro for games against Dinamo Zagreb, Chelsea and Salzburg. It also resulted in a substantial amount of ticket revenue.
As our colleagues from SempreMilan.it pointed out, the match against Chelsea brought in the most ticket revenue at nearly €7m. In total, around 15 million euros were collected during the group stage in terms of ticket revenue, not including UEFA prize money.
Over 200k, specifically 210,684, were in attendance at the San Siro for the three group stage matches and that is very impressive indeed. The Round of 16 will surely bring in a lot of ticket revenue and Milan will be hoping to overtake Tottenham as well.
