BGT viewers threaten to switch off and fume that show has lost all ‘credibility’ as they watch ‘useless’ Sven Smith audition

Viewers of Britain’s Got Talent threatened to switch off for good on Saturday after watching Sven Smith’s audition.

The 27-year-old, from London, was seen miming a guitar to a medley of classic Queen hits and stripped down to reveal sparkly pants and a tattooed chest as he ran frantically on stage.

Judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Bruno Tonioli were all delighted with this act, although Alesha Dixon pressed her buzzer and the viewers at home seemed to be on her side.

Sven won the judge’s vote after former MisTeeq singer Alesha was the only one who wanted him to leave the show and he is now being considered for the live semi-finals.

One angry viewer wrote: “He didn’t even do anything. He just ran around shaking his head and playing air guitar. It was completely unnecessary. This is pure bullshit! #bgt.’

A fourth said: “#BGT #BritainsGotTalent, the word Talent is in the title of the show. I want my money back!

But it wasn’t all negative for the aspiring star, who fooled audiences into thinking he was actually a musician by carrying an empty guitar case on stage.

One person commented on the YouTube video: “I don’t know why but I really liked it” while another fan described it as “fire”.

As Queen’s hit Don’t Stop Me Now blared at the London Palladium, Sven ran through the audience and former West End star Amanda leapt from her place at the table to dance.

Sven then climbed onto the judges’ desk where he was cheered by the judges and the crowd.

To applause from the audience, she said: “There was a lot going on there, right there!

One viewer threatened that this act could be the “straw that broke the camel’s back” with the long-running competition series.

Simon said, “Let me tell you something. It was so stupid it was brilliant. This really made me laugh!

“I love how you’re so surprised!”

Sven said: “I love Simon but I didn’t know if Simon would love me!”

He then claimed that if he won the show, his act would indeed be suitable to perform in front of King Charles and Queen Camilla at the Royal Variety Act.
