You may want to take a sweater before listening to Souparnika Nair’s BGT hearing because it is likely to give you goosebumps. At only 10 years old, Souparnika commanded the stage and wowed the judges.
Of course, her hearing was not without some complications from judge Simon Cowell, who stopped her halfway through her performance. She handled it like a pro, however, and earned a standing ovation.

Souparnika said it was “overwhelming” to finally be on BGT, calling it “the greatest thing I’ve ever done in my life.” She announced to the judges that she would be performing Judy Garland’s “Trolley Song”, telling David Walliams that she would love to perform in the West End.

The audience seemed to appreciate Souparnika’s adorable interpretation of the song, but Simon chose to stop it, causing the crowd to gasp. He said he “didn’t like the song” and asked her to sing a song from The Greatest Showman it was on his list.
Souparnika took it in stride, and continued to sing “Never Enough”. The song gave her the chance to show how powerful her voice is as she sang the refrain to the cheers of the audience. Both the crowd and the judges were standing at the end.
What did the judges think of his performance?
Souparnika has received rave reviews from the BGT judges. “It’s a mountain of a song, and you conquered it,” said David Walliams, while Alesha Dixon said she couldn’t believe Souparnika was only 10 years old.
