Billie Eilish admits she hated her iconic blue hair – The Independent

Billie Eilish may have a succinct style in terms of fashion, but when it comes to her hair, she’s very versatile with color.

She had made a drastic change of hairstyle in March to follow the delicate release of her album, Happier than ever. Still, being blonde didn’t exactly make her the “happiest ever.”

“I dyed my hair blonde and immediately thought, ‘Oh, I have no idea who I am,'” she told the magazine’s April 24 cover story.

The singer also reflected on her days with blue hair, the color that dominated her style as she began to gain traction in her career.

She confessed: “Man, what’s so interesting to me is that blue has always been my least favorite color. Which is so stupid because my hair stayed blue for years. But I didn’t want it to be – it was an accident.

“Someone put too much toner in my white hair and all of a sudden it turned lavender blue, and then I kept making it blue, and then I was known as that girl with blue hair, and I hated it,” Eilish. continued. “I spent months and months trying to get the color out and then I got this teal hair. But over the last couple of years, I’ve been like, “Wait, blue is who I am deep down.” »

Now, Eilish is sporting black hair for the launch of her third album, Hit me hard and softscheduled for release on May 17.

Eilish recently surprised fans by taking the stage at the Coachella Valley Music Festival with Lana Del Ray. The “Summertime Sadness” creator invited Eilish to sing two songs with her, “Ocean Eyes” and “Video Games,” for his April 12 track.

Fans in the crowd screamed at the sight of the two music icons performing together. Online, adoration devoured Coachella feeds with excited viewers admitting they were devastated not to have witnessed the crossover in person.
