Rivalries still burn in the game, but Erling Haaland has inadvertently united players from every Premier League club.
The Norwegian striker has had a stunning start to his career at Manchester City, scoring 14 goals in ten appearances in all competitions.
Haaland has been unplayable so far this season and Hal Robson-Kanu, who has Premier League experience, has revealed Haaland’s antics will send opposing clubs’ players into overdrive.
In fact, the players often found kicking each other on the pitch are comparing notes on how to stop the 22-year-old thief.
“This guy is a freak, that’s the way to describe him,” Robson-Kanu said on Kick Off.
“I know for a fact that opposition players are calling other teams saying, ‘We are playing against City this weekend, how do you stop Haaland? “”
And former Wales striker Robson-Kanu believes Haaland will break all football records if he stays at Man City long enough.
“Physically, he dominates most defenders. In terms of the goals he’s scored this season, he’s a threat in the air,” added Robson-Kanu.
“It’s almost [Cristiano] Ronaldo-esque where he jumps, generates power on the ground and in the air, he’ll just push his head towards the ball.
“A lot of players will build their careers on physical attributes… you can have a very, very successful career if you’re great from a physical point of view.
“Add to that his speed, his sharpness and his technical ability with the ball. He will come to his feet, chain the game and turn behind, it’s crazy.
“What he is doing for City now makes me think that if he stays fit and plays every game for the next decade at City, he breaks all football records.”
