Jamie Carragher has told Nottingham Forest to “show some class” following their stunning social media statement.
Forest have accused the PGMOL of deploying a Luton Town fan in Stuart Attwell in the VAR booth for their six-point relegation tie with Everton on Sunday, saying they even made their bias concerns clear before the game.
The FA have since confirmed they will investigate Forest’s statement as it calls into question the integrity of the game.
As well as losing the match 2-0, Forest were left injured after Ashley Young brought down Gio Reyna and Callum Hudson-Odoi during the match, and appeared to get away with a handball in the first half – none of which resulted in a draw. penalty.
A statement said: “Three extremely poor decisions – three penalties not given – which we simply cannot accept.
“We warned the PGMOL that the VAR was a Luton fan before the game but they didn’t change it. Our patience was tested on several occasions.
