Huawei Releases First White Paper on Fairness, Fairness and Opportunity Approaches – The Bakersfield Californian

Huawei called on ICT industry players to create a level playing field for everyone, not just their own employees, in its first white paper on fairness, fairness and opportunity approaches when doing business. Women in Tech event held at the Peter Drucker Forum.

This white paper is part of Huawei’s ongoing campaign to increase education and access to digital skills for women around the world. Huawei, like many other companies in the ICT industry, has advocated for fairness, opportunity and fairness within its own operations. In particular, the company has taken measurable steps to increase the diversity of its workforce and increase the internal representation of marginalized groups.

It is widely recognized that significant and tangible results from these programs are often slow to materialize. And so, Huawei has focused many of its efforts beyond the confines of its own talent pool and created dedicated programs aimed at benefiting the tech sphere as a whole.

By using ICT to connect the unconnected, Huawei hopes to give everyone their own path and a fair chance to pursue their dreams. The whitepaper includes several interviews with Huawei employees around the world about what they are doing to achieve these goals.

The “Women in Tech Carnival” event brought together renowned women leaders from around the world as well as promising young talents to inspire more young female talents to thrive and take on leadership roles in various industries.

Nobel laureate Ada Yonath kicked off the event by saying, “Science is gender neutral and so are many other fields.”

Huawei officially launched its Women in Tech initiative in 2020. Following a “Tech for Her, Tech by Her, Tech with Her” philosophy, Huawei has since worked to develop and use technology that will specifically benefit women, by building a more favorable environment for women. environment within the tech industry and encourage more women to take on leadership roles.

After nearly three years, the Women in Tech initiative is now active in many countries around the world. In July 2022, the third cycle of the School for Female Leadership in the Digital Age of the European Leadership Academy was held in Prague, Czech Republic. The program brought together future female leaders for a week of masterclasses, team projects, active learning sessions, group activities, themed dinners and cultural experiences. Huawei Ghana is also currently running a course for 50,000 female students and traders on cybersecurity and other digital skills.
