Anthony Joshua delivered a cheeky response to a group of Tyson Fury fans while vacationing in Marbella last summer.
The former two-time world heavyweight champion spent time relaxing on the Costa del Sol before heading to camp for his 2020 win over Kubrat Pulev.
While at the Opium Beach Club taking selfies with fans, AJ was filmed from a distance by a few supporters of his biggest boxing rival.
Gypsy King fans started chanting ‘There’s only one Tyson Fury’ after spotting Joshua.
He responded by laughing and jokingly showing them his middle finger.
Joshua told Sky Sports News about the fan situation: “It’s funny, I was at a little pool party, chilling with a couple of my boys.
“Some of the Tyson Fury fans were there and there is like a healthy division, a sports division at the minute. You know, ‘Tyson Fury or AJ.’
“And They yell, ‘Oh Tyson Fury’, as I walk away, so I gave them a little wave.
“Just to acknowledge and let them know I’m still here, I’m one of the guys too.
“On the way back they tried to do it again, so I went to confront them.
“I said, ‘Look, I’m here for the jokes and all, but let’s not make it a disrespectful thing, we’re all here to have a good time.
“That calmed things down a bit.”
The two Brits signed contracts to fight twice in 2021, but in the end their fight fell apart.
Deontay Wilder’s refereeing win forced Fury to a third fight with him, which the Gypsy King won by knockout.
It also pushed Joshua into a fight with mandatory challenger Oleksandr Usyk.
The Ukrainian has upset AJ and has now beaten him once again in their rematch.
Following those losses, Fury offered Joshua a title shot on December 3 and negotiations are ongoing.
Time will tell if the fight comes to fruition this time around.
