Abbie Quinnen reveals she is ‘not fully recovered’ from second and third degree burns in emotional message a year after horror accident
Abbie Quinnen shared a moving Instagram post on Wednesday as she reflected on her scars a year after suffering second and third degree burns in a horror accident.
The 24-year-old dancer had a tragic accident last year when a prank went wrong and she was left with burns to her face, neck, shoulder and arm.
Abbie also lost part of her right ear and a lock of hair as a result of the accident.

Abbie posted photos of her bandages during the healing process as well as snaps of her and other body positive activists.
Katie Piper, Rochelle Julianne and Sylvia Mac also showed off their scars while wearing bikinis and bathing suits.

Assume it: Abbie continues to look at all the positives in her situation: “But I know I haven’t finished my treatments yet, there are other options and most importantly, scars don’t define you!”
In her post, she said: “I’d love to say I’m fully recovered but sadly I’m not and probably never will be because I know I’m going to have scars for life!!”
She expressed her disappointment that the accident happened when she was only 20 years old. She said: “I’m 24 and I have to live like this for the rest of my life with these burn scars on my body!”
Abbie went on to review all the positives about her situation, “But I know I haven’t finished my treatments yet, there are other options and most importantly, scars don’t define you!”
“My scars are something I’m proud of and should be more proud of because they show me every day how strong I am!”
“It took me a long time to accept this, but I think I’m getting there!
Abbie completed the London Half Marathon in 2021 and continues to raise money for burn victims and has a linked Just Giving open page on her Instagram.
