“I’m the best in the world” – Ryan Garcia posts “dissident piece” aimed at Devin Haney after upset win

Ryan Garcia took a shot at Devin Haney after his victory.

Garcia entered the ring as an overwhelming underdog in his showdown with Haney, but managed to pull off an incredible upset by dropping his rival three times en route to a thrilling points victory.

The two men had been involved in a bitter rivalry for several months before their confrontation, but appeared to have settled their feud with a post-fight embrace.

But now Garcia appears to have reignited a war of words, dropping a dissident track called “Haney Pack” at his rival.

The lyrics he rapped said, “They didn’t think I’d win.” but I won. They didn’t think I would win, but I won.

“I got there and I did the job. I’m the best in the world, number one.

“I’ve got this pack of Haney in my lungs. Really beat that boy, he’s my son.

“He was sleeping on the floor, he didn’t respond nicely. Come on, call an ambulance Bill.”

Garcia previously mocked Haney by smoking while referencing his victory against the WBC super lightweight champion.

A new feud would provide a storyline for any second meeting, which both fighters believe could be agreed at a new catchweight.

Garcia claimed following the encounter that he broke Haney’s jaw, which could have jeopardized an immediate sequel.

But Haney provided an update on his health, insisting he was ready to compete again in late 2024.

And he also urged Garcia to hold the rematch on fairer terms.

“I failed, but it’s boxing, and if anyone knows me, they know I’m a real competitor and always wanted to test my skills against the best fighters in the world.

“Ryan, despite the circumstances, was victorious that night and that’s great. I feel like weight played a role but only Allah knows that.

“I would love to go back and give the fans a FAIR fight at an agreed weight.

“That being said, I am currently enjoying time with family and friends and catching up on my Ramadan days.

“Thank you to all my supporters and everyone involved in making this event happen.”
