As the heavyweight champion of the world, it’s inevitable to have a passionate fanbase, but one of Tyson Fury’s fans took it to the next level.
The supporter showed his hero a tattoo of “The Gypsy King”‘s face on his body, with the WBC champion then signing it for him.
“Somebody tell me you’re an AJ [Anthony Joshua] fan, are you? Fury asked the fan.
“No way,” he replied.
Fury then asked the man to prove it and he lifted his sleeve to reveal a huge tattoo of the boxer’s face on his shoulder and upper arm, wearing a crown.
Fury then signed the tattoo, saying, “So I’m signing this man’s tattoo, look. He’s got me on his arm.
This all comes as Fury is in the midst of negotiations with Joshua ahead of a possible ‘Battle of Britain’ clash later in the year.
After Joshua was beaten by Usyk last month, ‘The Gypsy King’ originally wanted to fight the Ukrainian for the undisputed heavyweight crown.
Usyk, however, has made it clear that he won’t be returning to the ring until next year as he has to recover from various injuries and wants to spend time with his family.
This prompted Fury to offer Joshua a chance to win his WBC world title and so far negotiations appear to be progressing rapidly.
Fury offered AJ a 60/40 split, which was accepted, although Joshua wants the split reversed if he wins and the pair get a rematch.
One of the only other sticking points is that Fury has offered Joshua three dates in late November/early December, but AJ promoter Eddie Hearn says he won’t be ready until December 17.
