Taylor Swift’s brand new album, ‘The Tortured Poets Department,’ has officially started breaking records following its highly anticipated release.
Spotify announced Friday that the global superstar’s new project broke a series of streaming records in a single day as fans tuned in to hear the artist’s 11th studio album.

The streamer announced on social media on Saturday that “The Tortured Poets Department” had become the first album in its history to surpass 300 million streams in a single day.
Additionally, the record’s title track, “Fortnight (feat. Post Malone),” became the most streamed song on Spotify in a single day on Friday.
“The Tortured Poets Department” arrived at midnight on April 19 and was quickly followed two hours later by an unexpected release of 15 additional songs.
Swift remained secretive about the album ahead of its release, but shared her excitement while accepting the Artist of the Year award at the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards on April 1.
“I’m so proud of it. I can’t wait to share it with you,” she said. “So thank you for voting for me for this incredible honor – Entertainer of the Year. I’m so blown away and so grateful and can’t wait to continue the fun with you, because we have a lot going on exciting to come.
As the album dropped at midnight, Swift took to Instagram to describe the album, writing: “An anthology of new works that reflect events, opinions and feelings of a fleeting, fatalistic moment – a moment both sensational and painful at the same time. measure.”
