Dillian Whyte reveals what was said in interaction with Anthony Joshua at ringside after win over Jermaine Franklin

Dillian Whyte’s punch with Anthony Joshua after his recent win over Jermaine Franklin wasn’t as friendly as it might have looked.

It was a close contest between Whyte and Franklin as ‘The Bodysnatcher’ picked up a majority decision victory, but his American opponent later said he was ‘robbed’ by the judges.

Despite the controversy, the result sees Whyte bounce back from his April knockout loss to Tyson Fury earlier this year and then he hopes for a rematch of his 2015 loss to Joshua.

‘AJ’ was present at ringside for Whyte’s latest win and the pair had a brief post-fight interaction as they bumped their fists in what appeared to be a show of respect, but ‘The Bodysnatcher’ has since come out and revealed that was not the case.

“I just kicked him and he kicked me hard,” Whyte told Seconds Out after the incident.

“I said, ‘Relax bro, why are you so tense, it’s just a potato, just be easy, relax, we’re not fighting.

“I just saw him and I said ‘yo’ and he hit my fist, I said ‘Bro, you’re still uptight and crazy, take it easy man. You don’t need to ‘being so stiff all the time’.

Prior to Whyte’s fight with Franklin, promoter Eddie Hearn said the winner of the fight would be the favorite to face Joshua in 2023, but it appears the Brixton-based heavyweight isn’t particularly pushing for the clash.

“I don’t care,” Whyte said when asked if he wanted Joshua to be next.

“The heavyweight division is not betting on anything. I want the next thing, whatever the next thing I have, brother.

“But, I can’t control what he does and what Eddie Hearn does and what DAZN does, I don’t know what their plan is and I can’t control that.

“The next step is this. I have no idea [how that fight would play out].”
