Developer Frank Krueger today released a new macOS tool that is useful for fellow developers. Nicknamed Appstat, the application is located in the menu bar of your Mac and shows you detailed data on the applications that you sell on the App Store.
Krueger explains the reasoning behind Appstat in an article on his blog:
So, for years, I have been connecting to App Store Connect and furiously clicking to find the information I need. It’s a lot of clicks, and I found myself checking the reports less and less – certainly not casually.
But it is not good in fact it is terrible! I am an independent application developer and I need to stay on top of things. I want to make sure that my applications work well and that customers are satisfied with them. My animated hood depends on it.
Right in your macOS menu bar, Appstat shows you detailed data from the App Store Connect, such as analytics, ratings, average and project sales, downloaded builds, and more.
- Name and platform
- Average product per day (including in-app purchases)
- Average unit sales per day (including free apps)
- Lot ID and SKU
- Your app website
- Original release date and time on the store
- Latest version number and time on the store
- Rate at which people rate your app (grades / month)
- Latest version note
- Overall assessment of the application
- Distribution of devices based on purchases
- Distribution of countries according to purchases
- Graph of products over time
- Average product per day
- Projected product by month and year
- Graph of unit sales over time
- Latest versions uploaded to TestFlight
All of these stats are also linked to the appropriate section of the Apple developer website, so you can switch directly from Appstat to your developer account. As Krueger describes it, it also makes Appstat an “excellent dashboard”.
Appstat is now available for $ 10, which seems like a small price to pay for such a useful tool if you’re a developer.
