Angelina Jolie47, is back in Los Angeles after helping Zahara17, moved to Spelman College in Atlanta, GA and sources tell HollywoodLife EXCLUSIVELY that her children — Maddox21, pax18 years old, Shilo16 and twins Vivienne and Knox, 14, — mobilize to help her face the big change. “Sending Zahara to college was tough for Angelina, but luckily her kids stepped up to make sure she didn’t get too depressed,” a source shares. “They’re all teenagers now, but they’re still so in tune with their mom that they know when she needs a little more attention. They cooked dinner for her and stayed home in the evenings. to watch movies, they are all very attentive.Angelina says she feels like the luckiest mother to have such beautiful children.
Although Zahara is busy adjusting to life on campus, our source says she still shows lots of love to her family. “She’s still in constant contact with all of them, they have a family text channel so she sends updates and checks in, she’s very attached,” the source adds.
The prestigious Zahara College was founded in 1881 and is located in Atlanta, a 4.5 hour flight from Los Angeles. “The great thing is that Atlanta is not far away, so they plan to visit a lot. Angelina is even considering renting accommodation near Spelman to facilitate family visits,” the source explains.
And it’s not just Angelina that Zahara misses, a second source says the whole family will visit her as often as they can. “The whole family has really rallied around Zahara as she heads off to college. Everyone knows how close Angie and Zahara are and they really wanted to let her know how excited they were for her before her Maddox even spent his birthday weekend helping his little sister pack and move to Atlanta. It meant a lot to him to see his first sister go off to college. They’re all incredibly proud of “her, but they know she will always stay in touch. There are plenty of opportunities to visit which they will definitely do as often as they can.”
Despite her bittersweet feelings about sending Zahara off to college, Angelina is “super proud” and even took to Instagram to celebrate her daughter’s new alma mater. Angelina revealed Zahara’s journey to Spelman by sharing a snapshot on her social media page on July 31. In the caption, which can be seen above, the Oscar-winning actress wrote, “Zahara with her Spelman sisters! Congratulations to all the new students starting this year. A very special place and an honor to have a family member as a new Spelman girl.
