Westlife’s Mark Feehily has announced that he will be stepping down from the band and will not join them on their upcoming tour due to ongoing health issues.
The 43-year-old singer recently underwent surgery to treat a hernia and said he was also treated for sepsis during a Covid lockdown in August 2020.
Feehily said his hernia operation was a success, but he was advised to take time to recover and not return to touring with Westlife.
Westlife is currently preparing for its US tour and will play in Canada, the United States, Mexico and Brazil.
The multi-award-winning Irish boyband has 14 UK number one singles to their name and has racked up seven best-selling albums during their career.
They are known for hits such as Flying Without Wings, Fool Again and Unbreakable, among others.
