Frank Warren says Tyson Fury has now given Anthony Joshua a TODAY deadline to agree to fight him on November 26 or December 3.
As a result, the fight appears to be in serious doubt as AJ promoter Eddie Hearn previously said the former champion would not be ready to return until December 17, following his loss to Oleksandr Usyk last month.
There is also another dispute over the distribution of the purse for a possible rematch.
Joshua accepted Fury’s offer of a 60/40 deal for their first fight, but the Gypsy King said if he were to lose he would want a 50/50 rematch.
Hearn insisted AJ would want the deal off in a rematch, so it would be 60/40 in his favor.
“We have a few dates which are November 26 and December 3,” Warren told iFL TV on Wednesday.
“And like Tyson said, pick one of those dates.
“It’s as simple as that, this is where we are…
“Remember that this is not a mandatory defence.
“It’s Tyson who is magnanimous and gives AJ a way back.
“60/40 is fine and there would be a rematch clause in there, and if there is a rematch it’s split 50/50.
“And that’s the end. These are not negotiable points at all.
Warren continued: “The offer is there and we need a response quickly because Tyson told me again this morning – if they don’t come back with a thumbs up then we’ll move on.”
Asked about the deadline, Warren replied: “Today. What’s there to discuss? There’s nothing to discuss is there really?…
“Usyk said he wouldn’t be available until February or March.
“Tyson wants to fight. But what he wants to make sure is that there are no problems for the Usyk fight in February or March and he needs a decent preparation for that.
“So he doesn’t want to do it late in December, that’s why he wanted to do it early.
“We’re not going to push him back any further, he doesn’t want to push him back and I don’t think we can anyway because of the situation I just mentioned with Usyk.”
Fury took to social media to add, “I’m going to do a one hour video [every hour] for today’s complete fucking until you agree or disagree, let us know.
“And just to clarify, there was never a December 17 date, ever.
“There’s only ever been November 26 at Wembley or December 3 at Cardiff.
“This is it now AJ, Eddie don’t be scared now accept the fight and let’s give the fans what they want.”
