Former Bayern Munich CEO Oliver Kahn congratulated his former club on Twitter for reaching the Champions League semi-finals.
Bayern beat Arsenal 1-0 in the second match of the quarter-finals on Wednesday, meaning the Bavarians advanced 3-2 on aggregate and will next face Real Madrid.
For Kahn, does victory bring a little feeling of revenge? Maybe. Kahn was in charge when Bayern made the decision to sack Julian Nagelsmann last March, with reports that bosses saw Bayern’s treble in jeopardy.
Since then, things haven’t exactly gone as planned. But an appearance in the Champions League final, or even a victory, is now in sight under Nagelsmann’s successor, Thomas Tuchel, whom Kahn singled out in his congratulations:
Congratulations @FCBayern. I am particularly delighted for Thomas Tuchel who, thanks to some clever tactics, took the team to the semi-final of the Champions League. The title is now within reach! pic.twitter.com/s5qMuQ5oCq

Tuchel is leaving now too, of course. But perhaps with one last justification on the way.
