New commercial development is coming to town near Walmart and Genesis Hospital along Maple Avenue.
An oil change service center will be built where the former C&K muffler shop once stood and there is potential for a new car wash and multi-tenant building adjacent to Country Club Drive.
Crews recently razed the old muffler shop to make way for future development, according to Matthew Schley, Zanesville’s community development director.
Schley explained that the site has been the target of multiple burglaries and over the past 18 months, law enforcement has had to deal with squatters on the property.
Where the old C&K muffler shop was located, Take 5 Oil Change will build its new service center.
Schley said he didn’t know exactly when construction would begin, but the company recently filed updated civil drawings with the city.
Muskingum County Auditor’s records show BOING US HOLDCO INC purchased three properties in April 2023 for $1.3 million.
In addition to the oil change gas station, Schley said there is potential for a car wash and a multi-tenant commercial building; one of those potential occupants could be a Pulp Juice and Smoothie Bar.
