Romeo Lavia was impressed by Cole Palmer as his Chelsea team-mate stunned Stamford Bridge once again.
The 21-year-old scored four goals in the 6-0 win over Everton on Monday night, taking his tally to 25 goals in all competitions this season.
His latest exploits for the Blues saw him draw level with Manchester City goalscorer Erling Haaland, with both men leading the Golden Boot race on 20 goals.
And Lavia, who joined the west London side last summer with Palmer, couldn’t help but be fascinated by the England international’s masterclass.
Take from X After Palmer took aim for the second time, Lavia sent a message: “It’s getting stupid now! MR COLD PALMER.”
Moments later, Palmer completed a first-half hat-trick on 30 minutes, where he lobbed his Three Lions teammate Jordan Pickford near the halfway line.
Lavia was quick to respond to her own post, simply adding an ellipsis.
Palmer then scored a penalty in the second half, justifying his decision by denying Noni Madueke and Nicolas Jackson to take it.
Chelsea’s demolition of their Merseyside opponents lifted them to ninth in the table to keep their European football hopes alive.
And Lavia was quick to praise the dazzling display, referencing his injury problems while commenting on his excitement to return to playing alongside his teammates.
He said: “Aargh can’t wait man. What a team!”
Lavia was expected to be part of a midfield trio of Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo, but he has been limited to just one outing all season.
The former Southampton star was ruled out for the remainder of the campaign in March after suffering knocks to his ankle and thigh.
His only appearance for Chelsea came in December’s win over Crystal Palace, where he suffered a setback on his debut.
