Chelsea manager Graham Potter wants to personally sign Tottenham Hotspur target and Brighton and Hove Albion goalkeeper Robert Sanchez, according to The Sun.
Chelsea want Tottenham Hotspur to target Robert Sanchez
The report claimed that Chelsea are planning to sign a new goalkeeper and are interested in Everton and England international star Jordan Pickford.
Former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners are set to scout Pickford in the 2022 World Cup final in Qatar.
However, according to the report, Sanchez is Potter’s favorite.
Potter worked with the 25-year-old Spain international goalkeeper when he was manager of Brighton and Hove Albion.
The Englishman described Sanchez as ‘fantastic’ on Brighton’s official website in March 2021.
However, the Seagulls will want a huge fee.
Interestingly, Sanchez has also been linked with Chelsea’s London and Premier League rivals Tottenham.
According to TEAMtalk, Spurs are eyeing Sanchez as a potential replacement for France international goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.
transfer battle
We don’t think Brighton and Hove Albion will sell Robert Sanchez in the January transfer window, but anything is possible next summer, especially if Chelsea or Tottenham Hotspur make a big offer.
Brighton are an established Premier League club, and the Seagulls are unlikely to want to sell one of their most important players mid-season.
