The Porsche Macan EV is the German performance brand’s next step towards electrification. It goes on sale next year and is expected to debut before the end of 2022. In these spy photos, the engineering team drives the camouflaged vehicle around the Nürburgring.
This Macan EV has quite a bit of camouflage on the body. In front, there is adhesive tape at the bottom of the divider. There is also a fake grille above the license plate. Stickers around the headlights attempt to disguise the shape of the lamps, but the actual design is easy to see. The company covers the Porsche emblem on the nose.

This Macan EV has a panel covering the entire rear section between the tailgate window and the bumper. This includes concealing the taillights. Porsche continues to equip development vehicles with fake exhaust tips. It is not yet clear if this is a style item for the production version.
We saw the Macan EV tests with two front fascia designs. One of them has openings that extend to the separator. The other shape, like this one, has smaller entrances.

There’s a digital instrument cluster, and it displays three circular gauges, at least in the photos we have. A wide-aspect ratio infotainment screen sits above the center console. HVAC controls appear to be console based.
The Volkswagen Group’s Premium Platform Electric (PPE) platform underpins the Macan EV. The technology supports fast charging up to 350 kilowatts. Powertrain choices will likely include a single motor driving the rear wheels or a twin-motor layout providing all-wheel drive.
