Mohamed Salah and Sergio Ramos reunited at the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai four years after their now infamous collision on the pitch in the 2017-18 Champions League final.
Both Salah and Ramos were at the awards ceremony, with the former Best Men’s Player nominee and Ramos being honored as the best defender of all time, and appeared to bury the hatchet.
The pair faced off in the 2018 Champions League final with Salah driving with the ball towards Real Madrid’s goal, only for Ramos to tackle him to the ground, inadvertently resulting in a shoulder injury for the Egyptian.

The Liverpool striker had been nominated for Best Men’s Player but ended the night by winning the Fans’ Player of the Year award.
He was beaten to the main prize by Los Blancos striker Karim Benzema, who scored 15 goals in 12 games as his side won a record 14th Champions League title.
Ramos received the award for his achievements throughout a glittering career with Sevilla, Real Madrid and most recently PSG, and could help soften the blow of being snubbed for Luis Enrique’s Spanish side.

The fateful collision between the two came with Salah spearheading Liverpool’s campaign to win Europe’s premier tournament against the odds, against a Real side that included Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo in their prime.
And after scoring an unprecedented 32 goals and providing 11 assists in 35 Premier League appearances, the 30-year-old has been Jurgen Klopp’s key player in his bid to dethrone Real.
After being forced off the pitch in tears, Salah recently described the experience as “the worst moment of my career”.

But the feud goes deeper than that, and the pair have once again made headlines after Ramos was seen touching Salah’s shoulder as he passed him at a UEFA ceremony in Monaco in 2018.
The pair have yet to face each other on the pitch since that fateful match in Kyiv, with the Spanish defender moving to PSG before Liverpool met Real in the Champions League final last year.
Football fans may find it hard to see the rivals face off again, with Ramos’ injury struggles preventing him from playing regularly at PSG and Salah’s Liverpool facing a tough second round tie with Los Blancos in the tournament this season.
