In July this year, Mini unveiled the original Aceman concept serving as a preview of a new production model the British company is currently working on. We have the first spy photos showing a camouflaged prototype of this electric crossover and they reveal that the production Aceman will remain very close to the concept in terms of design.
It may look like a Countryman at a glance, although it is definitely the Aceman. The short overhangs, large round headlights, bubbly overall shape and relatively low profile seem to match the design of the Aceman concept. Our photographers captured two different test vehicles with different wheel designs. There is no tailpipe in the back and that obviously means it is an electric vehicle.

If you find the design of this vehicle surprisingly humble, there is an explanation for that. The Aceman Concept was the first Mini product to feature the company’s new Charismatic Simplicity design language, which emphasizes minimalism and durability. The concept was 159.4 inches (4.05 meters) long and 78.35 inches (1.99 meters) wide, making it slightly smaller than the current Countryman at 169.7 inches (4.31 meters). ) long and 78.8 inches (2 meters) wide.
Speaking of the Countryman, Mini is also working on a new generation of this crossover. It should become slightly larger, leaving more room for the Aceman. The Clubman, in turn, could be discontinued after production of the current generation of Mini models ends. Simply put, the Aceman will be slightly smaller and fully electric, while the Countryman will retain its combustion engines and rank above the Aceman in terms of dimensions.
This is our first look at the zero-emissions crossover and it already looks exciting. We still have more to know about its powertrain and we expect to start seeing more prototypes being tested on public roads in the coming months, so stay tuned. A full and official debut is likely to come in 2024.
