‘I decided to live a little longer’: Michael Caine, 88, gives up alcohol to spend more time with his three grandchildren
Michael Caine has revealed that he has given up alcohol so that he can spend as much time as possible with his three grandchildren.
The actor, 88, said being a grandfather gave me “ new life ” and that he was “ completely obsessed ” with the twins Miles and Allegra and his grandson Taylor.
In 2017, Michael lost two astounding stones and cut back on his alcohol consumption when he feared he had developed cancer.

Now the Batman star has revealed he’s gone tee-total and has talked about how his grandchildren are the highlight of his life.
In an interview with Candis magazine, Michael said: “ I have decided to live a little longer, I have reduced the consumption of drinks and I have a new outlook on life. I thought I wasn’t going to have grandchildren, and suddenly I have three.
“They are my fountain of youth and have given me new life without any worries or problems. I am completely obsessed and so is my wife.

“ I had some highlights in my life, I won two Oscars and received a knight title, and I thought you couldn’t get better than that, but then I had my grandchildren, which is better than anything. ‘
Michael has two daughters; Dominique, 65, from her first marriage to actress Patricia Haines – and Natasha, 48, from her second, Shakira Baksh.
The actor went on to say, despite his legendary 60-year career in the film industry, being a father is his greatest achievement.

Michael said he loved spending time with his two daughters and “ tended to spoil them. ”
