Snapchat Reaches 422 Million Daily Users, Adds Billie Eilish Lens – Music Ally

Q1 financial earnings season is in full swing, with Snapchat’s parent company Snap releasing its latest numbers yesterday. Many of these numbers are also up: Snap’s revenue rose 21% year over year to $1.19 billion in the first quarter, while its daily active users climbed 10% to 422 million.

Time spent watching its TikTok-like “Spotlight” feed also increased by more than 125% year-over-year, while the number of people paying for Snapchat+ subscription more than tripled to nine million .

Along with all this, Snapchat got a new augmented reality lens from one of today’s biggest music stars, Billie Eilish. Unveiled yesterday, it gives fans a first listen to “L’Amour De Ma Vie” from Eilish’s upcoming album and encourages fans to use the lens to record their reactions to the song.

With influencers already jumping on the lens and more than 300 million people using Snapchat’s AR features daily, the trail is expected to have a wide reach.
