Gary Ablett Jr and his wife Jordan celebrated with their son, Levi, his third birthday on Saturday.
And the proud parents are already teaching the little one to give back, with the toddler giving gifts to other children in need.

“You are a beautiful, selfless, joyful young boy whom we love more than you could ever imagine. Levi lights up when his friends play with his toys, even more than when he plays with them himself, so we thought we’d do something a little different for her birthday this year.
“We decided that rather than give him something, we would get something for Levi to give to someone else. A lesson we really want to teach our children – it’s better to give than to receive… Proud of you little man!’
He went on to explain that today they donated a goat to a family living in poverty.

In an interview with The Important Others podcast in March, Jordan opened up about the family’s grief after Levi was diagnosed with a degenerative disease.
She said it took a long time for Levi to be diagnosed with the unspecified illness, and detailed the devastation she and Gary felt after learning the disease was “fatal”.
“I just remember sitting with Gaz at that meeting and when they said it, I just remember falling apart,” she said.

After seeing a series of paediatricians, Jordan said it was the Geelong Football Club team doctor who finally put them in touch with the right person.
She said this new pediatrician “got the ball rolling,” and after months of worrying, the couple, who married in 2016, finally had some answers.
Gary and his Jordan welcomed their second child, a daughter named Grace Honor, in November.
