Hollywood star Anne Hathaway couldn’t contain her excitement as she broke down during an interview to celebrate an Arsenal goal.
As Arsenal worked hard against Wolves in the Premier League on Saturday, Mikel Arteta wasn’t the only one desperate for a goal.
Back-to-back defeats to Bayern Munich in the Champions League and Aston Villa in the Premier League could have derailed their season last week.
So when Trossard opened the scoring for the Gunners at Molineux, there was an explosion of emotion around the world.
And it even included a mid-interview while promoting her new film “The Idea of You.”
Speaking to Interview Magazine, her co-star Nicholas Galitzine was keeping an eye on the score and alerted the actress after the Belgian broke the deadlock.
Hathaway responded by clenching both fists, roaring in celebration and shouting, “I love you!”
The interviewer looked somewhat stunned and Hathaway explained his love for Arsenal.
“Sorry, we’re both fans of the same team and there’s a game going on right now,” she said.
“In our last interview we scored a goal. We’ve had a tough week. »
It’s an allegiance that few people knew about, but one that Arsenal fans were happy to learn.
One fan responded on social media: “I think I’ll have to watch Princess Diaries now.”
Another wrote: “Now I have no choice but to go see the movie they are promoting, because Arsenal fans stick together!!!!”
And a third said: “She’s a real fan. Her scream of joy when she heard Trossard score and the fact that she knows what a tough week Arsenal have had are killer revelations. She’s my ‘A’ list number 1.”
Arsenal then beat Wolves 2-0 with Martin Odegaard scoring at the death to confirm all three points.
Hathaway could be cheering or crying by the end of Tuesday night as Arsenal prepare to host Chelsea in the Premier League.
The Gunners currently top the table on goal difference but know they cannot afford any more slip-ups after losing to Villa last week.
Manchester City are a point behind but have a game in hand while Arsenal must win in back-to-back London derbies with Chelsea on top before facing Tottenham this weekend.
