Samsung continues to expand its April 2024 security update to more Galaxy devices. It recently released the new security patch for Galaxy Tab S7, Galaxy A32, Galaxy A23, Galaxy A12 Nacho and Galaxy M54 series. The company has already updated all eligible flagship models globally.
April update rolling out to Galaxy Tab S7 series
Launched in August 2020, the Galaxy Tab S7 series is in its final year of official software support. Aging flagship tablets have already stopped receiving feature updates (they didn’t receive Android 14 or One UI 6.0), but security patches still arrive from time to time. Samsung is currently rolling out the latest SMR (Security Maintenance Release) to devices.
The April update for the Galaxy Tab S7 and Galaxy Tab S7+ is rolling out in Europe and Latin America, SamMobile reports. The tablet firmware version number ends with DXD1. Samsung is expected to expand the rollout to other markets soon. The update brings over 40 security fixes that are part of the latest SMR. There are no other changes.
The same security patches are also rolling out to the Galaxy A32 (4G). The update is currently available in the Caribbean region with build number A325MUBS7DXD1. This phone is also no longer eligible for feature updates (received Android 12 and Android 13), so the update is only for the latest SMR. Its 5G version has not yet received the April patch.
As for the Galaxy A23, the 4G and 5G versions repeat the April SMR. The deployment of the first has begun in South Korea, Samsung’s home country. Users receive update with firmware version A235NKSS4DXD1. For the 5G model, the update is available in Europe with build number A236BXXU5DXD6.
The Galaxy A23 is eligible for the One UI 6.1 update. However, the latest version doesn’t seem to bring it, although the build version suggests that the update is not just for the April security patch. There may be additional bug fixes in the works. The device is expected to receive One UI 6.1 in a month or two. Don’t expect to benefit from the new AI features of the Galaxy S24 series, however.
Galaxy A12 Nacho and M54 also benefit from these security patches
Samsung is also updating the Galaxy A12 Nacho and Galaxy M54 with the April security patch. The first recovers the new SMR in Asia with the firmware version A127FXXSBDXD2. The latter gets it in Latin America with the build number M546BXXS4BXD1. The Galaxy M54 may receive One UI 6.1, but the Galaxy A12 Nacho has finished receiving feature updates.
