Guess who’s back? Descendants 4!
It’s been a long time since we visited the Descendants in the magical land of Auradon. Disney knows how much we miss this world, so they began their preparation to bring us back to it in Descendants 4. However, this time we will meet some new faces.

We got to see her with Carlos of the late Cameron Boyce, son of Cruella De Vil, Evie of Sofia Carson, daughter of the Evil Queen, and Jay of Booboo Stewart, son of Jafar as they break away from the influence from their parents and find the courage to embrace love and all that is good.
The film franchise was a hit that spawned many short films, animations, books, toys, and other merchandise. Fans have been yearning for a fourth film for some time, unfortunately the tragic passing of Cameron Boyce delayed sequel plans at the time. In September 2021, Disney revealed that two brand new movies were in development. Now, Disney has released official plot and character details for one of these upcoming movies.
New characters for Descendants 4?
The official Disney+ press release reveals that the fourth film will be titled Descendants: the pocket watch. The plot will be heavily inspired by Alice in Wonderlandas new characters Red, daughter of the Queen of Hearts, and Chloe, daughter of Cinderella, join forces to travel through time using the White Rabbit’s magical pocket watch to prevent a catastrophic event from occurring in Auradon.
Franchise manager Kenny Ortega (of Hocus Pocus fame) will be replaced by Jennifer Phang (The stewardess, Foundation), which also serves as a co-EP. Here’s a quote from Disney Branded Television President Ayo Davis below:
“With a captivating script and directorial vision from Jennifer Phang, we are setting a new high bar for creativity and imagination, with a film that raises the bar on story, song and dance to entertain young people. viewers, their families, and the global fan base that grew with the ambitious story of ‘Descendants’… We join them in anticipation as we prepare to deliver a great new entertainment experience on Disney+.

When we can expect to see in Descendants 4
Manufacturing on Descendants 4 is set to begin in the fall, so we can expect the movie to be released in 2023. No casting details have been released as of yet, but the story is set to expand on the world and characters who have already been conjured, so a few familiar faces should return. The film will include seven new songs, in addition to several classic Disney songs that fans already know and love.
In addition to fantastic music and choreography, Descendants 4 boasts the talent of its adult ensemble cast featuring Kristen Chenoweth as Maleficent, Kathy Najimy as The Evil Queen, and Keegan Connor Tracy as Belle.
