Angelina Jolie is challenging Brad Pitt’s NDA request as part of their years-long wine dispute, “Page Six” reported on April 26. Jolie’s lawyers are calling Pitt’s motion to obtain Jolie’s NDAs from third parties an invasion of privacy, an attempt to silence her. and even “abusive”. Pitt’s lawyers asked the Los Angeles Superior Court to disclose the NDAs and other sensitive information earlier this month in an apparent effort to shed light on whether his NDA application was “the conclusion of the agreement. [Jolie] later claimed this was the case” when she sold her vineyard shares to a Russian oligarch. Pitt first sued Jolie over the sale of her $500 million winery, Château Miraval, in 2022.
Jolie’s lawyers previously claimed Pitt wanted her to sign an “onerous” and “extensive” NDA that would “cover Pitt’s personal misconduct, whether or not related to Miraval,” including allegations of abuse related to an incident on a plane in 2016, in order for Jolie to agree to sell her stake in Miraval to Pitt. When the deal fell through because of this affair, she sold her shares elsewhere.
“By their nature, Pitt’s requests seek to invade Jolie’s privacy,” Jolie’s new filing states, according to “Page Six.” “The requests relate to contracts between Jolie (or one of its entities) and any other person or entity. Most, if not all, of these agreements will be employment contracts that include Jolie’s compensation or that she has paid to third parties.” Jolie’s lawyers added: “Forcing Jolie to expend the time and expense of collecting and producing all of this documentation is costly, unnecessary and unreasonable – and constitutes the latest manifestation of Pitt’s abusive conduct toward Jolie.” The Court should not allow this.
Brangelina first purchased the famous 1,200-acre vineyard in 2008 and was married in the Châtaeu chapel six years later. The couple divorced in 2019. The property dispute brought abuse allegations against Pitt back into the headlines, in which documents detailed physical abuse suffered by Jolie and their children on a plane in 2016.
