Former Liverpool star Jordon Ibe has been released by Ebbsfleet United after just one appearance for the club.
I signed for the National League side in October and was praised for dropping out of the leagues to get his career back on track.
However, the 28-year-old has only made one appearance for the club, coming off the bench.
This appearance lasted only six minutes against Oldham Athletic in February.
The winger was released by Ebbsfleet, along with seven other players, after the club avoided relegation on the final day of the season following a 0-0 draw against Boreham Wood.
Ibe joined Liverpool in 2011 aged 16, making 58 appearances for the club before leaving five years later in a £15 million deal with Bournemouth.
He signed for the Reds Wycombe Travelerswhere he was introduced as a child prodigy with a huge future.
In total, he has played 119 times in the Premier League, as well as coming through Derby County and in Türkiye with Adanaspor.
Mental health issues affected the Englishman during his career and his last appearance in this country’s football championship came in December 2020 as a substitute for Derby in a 0-0 draw against Stoke.
Ibe is not the only former Liverpool star to leave Ebbsfleet, with David Amoo also on the release list.
Although Ibe is one of several players leaving the Kent squad this summer, it is often common for non-league clubs to lose the majority of their squad each year.
Only six players remain under contract with the Fleet as they and 12 other players discuss extending their part-time contracts for another year.
Where Ibe ends up next remains to be seen and, at 28 years old, there is still a way to go moving forward.
