Bukayo Saka. A first class footballer, and above all a first class guy.
He warmed the hearts of the nation during Euro 2020, which ended in devastating fashion as his saved penalty helped England defeat Italy in the final at Wembley.
A lesser mortal would have let such an overwhelming moment define his career, but not this player. Saka is made of a stronger material.
The striker has continued to play regularly for the Three Lions and is a key member of an Arsenal side that are being touted as genuine Premier League title contenders this season.
Saka started the World Cup in style as his two goals helped England seal an emphatic 6-2 win over Iran in their opener. He also completed their 3-0 win over Senegal with a tricky chip that one of the best strikers in the world would be proud of.
Yet it is his caring ways off the pitch that endear Saka to his teammates and English football fans as a whole.
From his tentative photo request with David Beckham to his hilarious bees with Jack Grealish, everyone loves Saka and needs someone like him in their life.
“If you haven’t seen a clip of him asking David Beckham for a photo… you will fall in love with him,” England and Arsenal team-mate Aaron Ramsdale told talkSPORT.
“I don’t need to say much more. The kindest and most humble child. Polished as anything, brought up the right way.
“That’s how he is, he’s funny. I think everyone talked about the same kind of things. I see him day by day and it doesn’t change with the cameras or because it’s England, he’s like that with all the staff at Arsenal and here.
“He’s just that perfect boy that you wish he was either your son or your brother who was just brought up the right way. This is a huge testament to his mother and father.
“He’s just a really nice guy. He’s a young lad with a great career ahead of him, the world is his oyster,” added Three Lions striker Callum Wilson.
“He’s so talented, but he’s also so, so humble. He’s always smiling, always laughing, always happy.
“The first time I met him was in this camp. I get along with him like a house on fire, he’s like a little brother to me.
“He’s a nice boy and an asset to the team.”
