Billie Eilish fans were left baffled by her brotherly bond with brother Finneas O’Connell after he helped her write a song about oral sex.
The What Was I Made For hitmaker, 22, has been working with her brother Finneas, 26, since they were children. They have won numerous accolades – including Academy Awards and Grammys – for their lyrical prowess. But with the upcoming release of Billie’s new album, Hit Me Hard and Soft, they’re taking things to the next level.
Billie couldn’t wait to premiere one of her new songs during a concert at Coachella. The track – reportedly called Lunch – features the lyrics: “I could eat this girl for lunch / Yeah, she’s dancing on my tongue / Looks like she could be the one / And I can’t get enough , I could buy him so many things, It’s a desire, not a crush.

The song continues: “Call me when you’re here / I said ‘I brought you something rare, and I left it under ‘Claire’ / So now she’s coming up the stairs / So I shoot a chair and I’ I do my hair.
It’s pretty clear that the song is referring to something a little heavier than just a kiss, after Billie came out as bisexual last year. But fans were left baffled by the brotherly bond between Billie and Finneas after he helped her write the racy lyrics.
One of them said: “Okay, but how is Finneas sitting there doing this, bless him.” ” While another TikTok user suggested: “He’s probably mentally separating him if that makes sense.” Like he’s probably just focusing on the music rather than what the lyrics are saying/his sister being the one singing them.
Someone else joked that Finneas is “stronger than I would be”, while another social media user said: “Finneas is so cute.” Writing this kind of shit with your brother or sister must be something! He must completely block her mind as if she were his little sister!
Billie calls Finneas her “best friend,” while he told Variety that she was “incredibly generous” about sharing credit with him. He said: “It’s crazy and cool to me that people are so aware of creative circumstances. »
The couple began taking a songwriting class taught by their mother Maggie Baird when they were just 12 years old, which took Beatles songs in order to teach children composition. She said: “The course was only an hour long for about 10 weeks, but Finneas was like [Eureka] and within a few months, he formed a group.

“All I had to teach him was the basics, and he picked them up straight away – and it’s the same with Billie,” their mother said. Billie rose to fame when she recorded her brother’s track Ocean Eyes in 2015, propelling her to stardom and eventually winning both recording contracts.
Billie said: “Then we started writing together […] I think the first one was either Hostage or Bellyache.
