Since its Highsnob introduction, Ancuta Sarca has been on a roll, thanks to styling moments from fashion icons like Bella Hadid and Rihanna (we knew this moment would come).
Today, the London-based label unveiled a new collection of heeled trainers that could once again find their way into Rih and Bella’s wardrobes (and possibly mine, too).
Continuing to work with junk sneakers, Ancuta Sarca SS23 includes house signatures like the Nike snules, i.e. sneaker mules. The eponymous brand run by the Fashion East alum also develops silhouettes from past collections.
The AW22 square toe trainer loafers resurface with a patent leather and scuba makeover. In the same breath, the Furiosa boots, worn by Hadid during the NYFW, have undergone a thermo-style color treatment.
While the updated classics are nice to see, the new Ancuta Sarca styles made me feel like I’d died and gone to reworked shoe heaven.
The hot pink platform flip flops featured a Nike branded pull tab on the strap detail of the shoe, joining my SS23 wishlist alongside Thoephilio’s I Love TP Tee.
Ancuta Sarca’s freshness also materialized in silver metallic fishnet heels and clogs. Additionally, a rebuilt Vans boot, made from the skateboard brand’s timeless SK8 Hi silhouette, shone a light on the partnership of the two.
For the first time, Ancuta Sarca presents women’s clothing, in particular unsold SKIMS pieces redesigned through Sarca’s sports lens.
SKIMS’ once understated mesh pieces now feature clean cutouts, bold harnesses and dramatically extended bodice detailing, evoking the spirit of the Formula 1 motorcycles and racing cars that Sarca has come to love.
Not to mention, Sarca’s form-fitting gloves tell me Kim Kardashian may have let the designer in on the secret to the ripped arms.
Like I said back in June, love ’em or hate ’em, Ancuta Sarca’s shoes are inventive and fun – and indeed, for fashion girls who love this like Hadid, Cher and Rihanna.
Ancuta SS23 has undoubtedly seen the brand go further in its upcycled shoe bag, releasing more unique sneels, snules, and snoots that I wouldn’t mind revisiting Miss Fenty.
