Taylor SwiftFans are rushing to defend their daughter T-Swizzle…and one magazine is so concerned it removed a reviewer’s byline – because they feared the person would receive threats.
Paste, an entertainment/culture media outlet, published his review from the “Department of Tortured Poets” on Friday… but did not include the name of a specific author in the signature.
The magazine included an editor’s note on its account… saying that during his review of “Lover” in 2019, the writer who wrote the article received threats of violence – and that the magazine does not did not want to put an employee in danger.
Probably a good decision… because critics are completely destroying Swift’s 11th studio album – saying it infantilizes her audience and comparing her to a controversial poet Rupi Kaurwork.
The first line sets the tone for the entire piece…the writer beginning by saying, “Sylvia Plath didn’t stick her head in an oven for this!” — so yes, the review is quite critical.
But Paste’s review isn’t stopping people from listening to the album… because “TTPD” would have made history by becoming the first album to garner over 300 million Spotify streams in a single day.
BTW…netizens have mixed reactions to Paste’s decision – some saying its fans should be allowed to debate a person who criticizes their favorite artist while others applauded Paste for protecting their writer.
Stick, better be careful though…otherwise they might end up being deleted in Taylor’s 12th album!
