The Philadelphia 76ers have begun the process of trimming their roster. On Sunday morning, a team official confirms that the team has parted ways with young veteran Trevelin Queen. Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Investigator was the first to report.
In June, Queen joined the Sixers in one of their first free agency acquisitions. Following the signings of PJ Tucker and Danuel House Jr., Queen became a member of the organization after spending one season in Houston.
Last year, Queen joined the Rockets after being drafted. Although he was waived before making his debut with the team, Queen joined the Rockets’ G League affiliate, the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. Queen was awarded a two-way deal with the Rockets and named 2021-22 NBA G League MVP.
After a successful run in the G League last year, Queen attracted interest from Daryl Morey and the Sixers. When he was brought to Philadelphia, Queen landed a two-year contract with the Sixers, according to spotrac.

From the jump, Queen had to fight for a spot on the Sixers roster. Unfortunately, he will no longer be on the roster after two pre-season games.
Queen is leaving the organization after spending a week-long training camp with the team in Charleston, South Carolina, as well as two preseason matchups against the Brooklyn Nets and Cleveland Cavaliers.
In the Queen’s Sixers debut against the Nets last Monday, the young veteran hit his head on the field and was ruled out for the rest of the game. Queen was barred from action Wednesday against the Cavs as he was battling symptoms of a concussion.
All week, Queen has been involved in Sixers practice in a limited way. When the team faced off in Delaware on Saturday, Queen was the only player on the roster to sit out due to injury. Although Queen was set to be cleared for action on Sunday, the young guard will part ways with the 76ers.
