Ole Miss basketball player accused of shooting during vehicle repossession – WAPT Jackson

A University of Mississippi basketball player has been arrested in Oxford. The Oxford Police Department said officers responded to Price Hill Park around 5 p.m. Friday after someone reported a shooting. The investigation revealed that a vehicle was in the process of being repossessed when Jamarion Demontrez Sharp, 22, “fired a firearm in the direction of the victim,” according to an OPD news release. No one was injured and Sharp was taken into custody. Sharp, a senior, joined the Rebels for his senior year after transferring from Western Kentucky. During his time on the Oxford court, the 7-foot-5 forward played in 31 games and led the SEC in blocks. Sharp is charged with aggravated assault and was given a $100,000 bond by a municipal court judge.
