Maxwell left fans perplexed by her absence from the highly anticipated reunion, leaving her ex-husband Ash Galati alone in front of the rest of the group.
Speaking to Daily Mail Australia about the no-show, Madeleine said she simply didn’t align with Married At First Sight and wanted nothing to do with the series following its dramatic exit earlier this season.
“I chose not to go to the reunion because I didn’t feel aligned with the production itself,” the former Home and Away actress said.
Maxwell left fans perplexed by her absence from the highly anticipated reunion, leaving her ex-husband Ash Galati alone in front of the rest of the group.
“The production itself was at odds with the love story they are selling to Australia.”
Ash previously warned fans wouldn’t see Madeleine in the two-episode reunion special during an interview with Daily Mail Australia last month.
“I’m coming back alone, which was a blessing in disguise,” Ash confessed, shedding light on his feelings about the unexpected turn of events.
Despite the treacherous journey and Madeleine’s sudden disappearance, Ash expressed a sense of relief at his choice.
“I chose not to go to the reunion because I didn’t feel aligned with the production itself,” she told Daily Mail Australia cryptically, adding: “The production itself was something something contradictory to the love story they are selling to Australia.” (Photo with her husband Ash Galati)
“I expected her to come back. I followed things through to the end. I had an obligation to come back to myself, to the show, to the other couples. So I did the right thing and introduced myself. But she didn’t.
The mystery deepened when Ash admitted, “As far as I know, no one has heard from her.”
“As soon as I left the experience, I blocked his number. But if she wanted to, she could reach out to me, but she probably forgot about me.

The couple failed to connect and their unhappy marriage reached its breaking point after a dramatic honeymoon during which they struggled to get to know each other.
Scenes from their honeymoon saw Madeleine burst into tears after seeing a herd of cows and tell Ash that she had been contacted by “spirits” during their dinner, leaving her groom confused.
Madeleine has since told Daily Mail Australia: “The context around the cow scene has not been fully shown.”

Memorable scenes saw Madeleine burst into tears upon seeing a herd of cows, despite not being a vegetarian, and telling Ash that she had been contacted by “spirits”.
“It was a topic we discussed the day before on a drive up to Slaughterhouse Road with Ash and a producer,” she said.
Madeleine described a dinner scene that brought her discomfort to the forefront.
“There was a large piece of meat served, like a pig on a spit, with no accompaniments, not even potatoes,” she explained.
