Netflix viewers have been left in meltdown after discovering an “incredible” Australian teen romantic comedy, with many fans demanding another season of the series.
Created by Hannah Carroll Chapman, Heartbreak High focuses on several students at Hartley High who must deal with the consequences of publishing their sexual encounters.
After Amerie (Ayesha Madon) is responsible for the “incest card” – which reveals everyone’s sexual history – she finds herself excluded from society as students are forced to take a mandatory sex education class .
However, the intrusive and public card isn’t the only worry on the teen’s mind as her longtime best friend, Harper (Asher Yasbincek), punches her in the face – but she doesn’t know why.
After the stories of Harper, Amerie, Malakai (Thomas Weatherhall), Quinn (Chloe Hayden), Ca$h (Will McDonald) and Darren (James Majoos), the first season comes to an explosive end.
Netflix viewers went into pandemonium during the second season of Heartbreak High, with many demanding a third season of the series (left to right: James Majoos as Darren, Chloe Hayden as Quinn and Ayesha Madon in the role of Amerie)
And the second season of the series brought just as much drama to Netflix fans.
Even though Amerie and Harper may have mended their broken relationship, they are still dealing with the aftermath of the first season.
Harper struggles to regain a sense of normalcy as her attackers’ trial approaches.
While Amerie still feels socially ostracized as she fails to fit in with the typically eccentric crowd at Hartley High.
Problems also emerge within their circle of friends, as Darren struggles to deal with his relationship with Ca$h and his asexuality.
Meanwhile, Malakai and Amerie’s relationship is doomed as a complicated love triangle emerges between the couple and their queer Aboriginal friend, Missy.
The show’s first season blew up as Amerie became a social pariah after it emerged that she had made the sexual relationships of everyone at the school public.
The following season brought just as much drama with students Harper, Amerie, Malakai, Quinn, Ca$h and Darren struggling to navigate their reality.
Netflix fans raved about the series, calling it “the best season of the best series on Netflix.”
But when the school catches fire, the series finds itself on hold, leaving much to the imagination as to what a potential third installment could hold.
Fans were blown away by the reboot series’ second season, with some dubbing it “the best season of Netflix’s best series.”
“Listen to Heartbreak High, you get another international Emmy, you did this shit. This is how you do a season two,” one fan said.
“You better give me season 3 #Heartbreakhigh,” exclaimed a second.
A third chimed in: “Like it’s just that girl.” Best show on Netflix.
“Heartbreak High is what Never Have I Ever and Sex Education wanted to be,” commented another.
” A heartache ! I swear I’ve never felt so well represented and they cover so many topics so well.
“I could rewatch Heartbreak High S2 like it’s family…” one user wrote.
Some commented on the incredible skills of the wardrobe department, adding: “Very tall wardrobe so mf fire I need Harper’s entire wardrobe.” »
Others pleaded with the streaming platform for another season: “Please make Netflix renew Heartbreak High for season three”
The show was left on an epic cliff after the school was burned down during the students’ formal class.
