Jon Rahm hopes there will be a “path back” for LIV Golf players to feature on the PGA Tour again, admitting he felt “emotional” about missing some events.
Rahm joined breakaway tour LIV in December in a deal worth £450 million ($566.4 million),, external meaning he is now barred from PGA Tour tournaments.
However, there have been discussions about a possible merger between the two circuits.
“I hope that in the near future I can come back and play some of these events,” said the 29-year-old Spaniard.
“I would definitely love to go back and play some of them.”
Rahm made his LIV debut in Mexico last weekend after missing PGA events at Palm Springs and Torrey Pines – site of his first PGA Tour victory in 2017 and his US Open triumph in 2021.
He will also miss this week’s WM Phoenix Open at TPC Scottsdale, which is just a few miles from his home.
“It was a lot harder being home not competing and knowing these events were happening. Palm Springs and Torrey, those weeks were tough. I’ve talked so many times about how important Torrey is to me “, did he declare.
“And coming through Phoenix as often as I had to and knowing I wasn’t going to play there, it’s really emotional. It’s one of the things I’m going to miss.”
