Last month, the star opened up about her struggles as a parent during an episode of the Raising Good Humans podcast.
While appearing on the show, she discussed several aspects of parenting and gave some insight into what she felt was the hardest part of being a mother.
During the meeting, Alba noted that she felt letting her kids make bad decisions and how much they had to deal with them on their own was what she considered the hardest part of parenting.
“The hardest part of being a parent is allowing your kids to make a mistake and knowing when it’s going to be too hard or too much,” she said.
Going their own way: During the session, Alba noted that she felt that letting her children make bad decisions and measuring how much they should handle them on their own was what she considered the most difficult parenting.
The Machete actress noted that her children will learn from their experiences and become better people in the future.
“But I also love that they’re not mistakes, they’re lessons, and they’re meant to take challenges and bring them out on the other side,” she said.
Alba described finding the balance between controlling her children and letting them learn on their own as “something I really struggle with”.
The performer went on to talk about her husband and pointed out that although he had “a different experience” from her in terms of growing up, they still agree on many parenting topics.
“We have a lot of the same values when it comes to families and raising children,” she said.
Main differences: The interpreter then spoke about her husband and pointed out that because he had “a different experience” from her in terms of growing up, they still agreed on many topics relating to parenthood.
Alba, however, pointed out that although her husband was more lax as a parent and generally concerned about the personal and academic well-being of their children, she preferred to take a more active role in their children’s education.
The Sin City actress also discussed the differences between her children’s experiences and pointed out that each of her three children had specific issues that needed to be addressed by their parents.
She specifically noted that “Honor’s emotional needs, her intellectual needs” differed greatly from Haven’s.

Alba said her eldest daughter was starting to move away from her childhood issues and starting to encounter those of a young adult.
“You kind of have like the 10-year-old fifth grade stuff, which is the start of hormonal changes and the awakening of that next stage of self, and Honor is like right in the heart,” she said.
The performer also said that Hayes has passed his baby days and grown into a much more active young boy.
“They are just at very different stages. And then the baby, he’s not a baby, he’s 4 years old. He’s very cute and he just wants to play,” she said.
