Calvin Harris teases new song on TikTok with mystery guest singer – NME

Calvin Harris has teased a brand new song on TikTok with a mystery guest singer.

The Scottish DJ took to the social media platform to share a video of a quiet beach with the words “summer soon”. Harris further captioned the video: “not long now.”

In the clip, a singer can be heard singing on a finger guitar and beating a techno beat: “We were dancing, we were wild in the ocean / Ocean, ocean / Love the way you stretch me out and open me up / Open up, open up.”

He further revealed in the comments that he was “trying” to release the collaboration, saying he was “not sure” when the song would be released.

The deep, raspy vocals have fans convinced the DJ has teamed up with Miley Cyrus for her next summer anthem – listen below:

We hope the song will appear in time for Harris’ slate of summer appearances, where he is expected to play a DJ set at TRMSMT Festival 2024 in Glasgow, joining Liam Gallagher and Gerry Cinnamon. He will also continue his residencies in Las Vegas and Ibiza.

This follows her recent win in Best Dance Act at the BRITs 2024, beating fellow contenders Fred Again…, Romy, Becky Hill and Barry Can’t Swim. Harris was also nominated in the Pop Act category, but lost to Dua Lipa.

Harris recently spoke about his plans to leave the DJ business soon. “I’ve always said that once I got past 50, I didn’t see myself DJing anymore,” Harris said (via DJ Mag). “The most commercial end [of DJing], it becomes a little bit… a little suspicious. I think I’d rather be in the studio making songs.

“I think that’s where the majority of my talent lies, making something sound good,” he explained. “So I’d like other people’s records to sound good.”

Separately, Harris hit back at critics who said her Ultra Music set was “disappointing.”
