Halloween Ends Falls Short of Expectations as Film Only Makes $41 Million Opening Weekend

The Jamie Lee Curtis-directed film’s opening weekend tally was just $41.2 million, even though it was expected to hit the $55 million mark, according to Deadline.
On Saturday, the spinoff grossed $13 million, down 36% from Friday’s $20.4 million.

And the latest installment in the Halloween franchise lagged behind its predecessor – grossing $8.2 million less than its $49.4 million.
Despite its low box office debut, the slasher cost $30 million to make, so it made a profit of $10 million+. And his first low-income weekend may be due to his day and date release.
