The 46-year-old Avatar star sports a rough beard and long hairstyle to play a former SAS soldier struggling to lead a normal life.
However, he still has his distinctive gravelly voice for the role.

The trailer opens with several people trying to pressure Sam’s retired character into taking one last job.
Sam proves he won’t be told what to do when he forcefully pushes a man to the ground and tells him to leave.
“It stops now, don’t test me,” a gruff Sam said.

In the series, Sam plays Ryan Logan, a former special forces agent, who struggles to cope with life after the loss of his wife.
Life takes another cruel turn when he is then plunged into the underworld to prevent his only son from being taken from him.
Bloom actress Phoebe Tonkin will portray Logan’s wife, Justine, in the film, while Matt Nable will play Johnny.

Stan’s chief content officer, Cailah Scobie, said audiences would be interested in a powerful and thought-provoking film.
“The Stan Original Film Transfusion is poised to be a powerful Australian thriller,” she said.

The Stan Original Transfusion movie will be released on January 20 only on Stan.
