Oliver Glasner was able to field his full attacking trio of Eberechi Eze, Michael Olise and Jean-Philippe Mateta in the Eagles’ 5-2 win over West Ham United.
Due to injuries and suspensions, Crystal Palace have only been able to play their three preferred strikers in five games this season – winning four of those games and suffering just one defeat.
The Eagles played 28 more games with at least one of three missing – winning just five of those games and suffering 14 losses.
Former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy praised Palace’s ‘outstanding’ attacking line and analyzed Eze’s performance in Match Day 2: “You could pick any of the three, but Eze was on another planet in this game. He hasn’t played much this season but, when he’s fit, he’s as good as I’ve seen him.
“He’s a Champions League player – I’m sorry, Palace fans. He won’t be here next season. He’s an incredible talent [we are talking about].
“He has great physical strength, is calm on the ball, is very good technically, can go both ways, can play wide left or right and he can play as a midfielder – where Roy Hodgson l sometimes played.
“He’s just a super confident and talented player.
“They [West Ham] I couldn’t handle it. He can score goals, he can score goals and he can pass people. Everything in his game is there, if he manages to stay physically fit and focused on his football.
“There will be so many clubs after him because he can do everything. He’s a wonderful, wonderful player.”
